Dorothea Schütze, an education consultant from Germany, is facilitating a three-day workshop on Betzavta (together) training, in Golden Bay. She is currently visiting New Zealand and has agreed to come and run this workshop for us. Dorothea works in Germany assisting schools, organizations and companies with implementing democratization processes.

Kahurangi Educational Trust is now asking you, the community, that will make up our democratic school, to come and ‘participate’ in its development, through this workshop.

Although we are hosting this workshop it is not only for those interested in Kahurangi School. This workshop is designed for all people who are interested in questions of democracy, freedom and equality. People who themselves work with groups, either in schools, organisations or other initiatives, will be introduced to how they may incorporate the Betzavta concepts and ideas into their own communities.

“Democracy” is not just a definition appropriate for political systems or governments, but also encompasses attitudes and behaviour applicable to all situations of our everyday life. [click here to read the rest…]
